AJ36 is the first prefix of the Cleland £50 note. This note has the very low serial number of 98.
Like the B410, the B413 bore the image of Matthew Boulton and James Watt on the reverse. AJ36 was the first prefix of the £50 note that bore the signature of Victoria Clelend. The notes were printed at the Debden Security Printing Works in Essex by De La Rue. The notes entered circulation on 3 March 2015 and were withdrawn on 30th September 2022. From this date onwards only polymer notes remained in circulation in the UK.
